Note to Reader Missing Girl is a short novella. The full-length novel, 60 Days, that continues the story in this human trafficking fiction series will be available November 10, 2016.
In life my name was Sophia Lucia Cruz. In death it is simply missing girls. Not even singular, but plural, as if there was never one single part of me that was unique or separate from all the other girls that were buried in that harsh Mexican dirt; victims of circumstance, irrevocable choices, and just plain bad luck. If I still had the capacity to cry, I would, because it is that sad and tragic. But, when the knife slid deep into my belly and the blood gurgled at the base of my throat, I knew that tears wouldn't save me, and they won't change my story now. . .
Sophia Cruz was an average 17-year-old girl from Mission Valley, until the day she had a knife put to her stomach and fear inserted into her heart. Some may have called it stupidity. She called it a necessary sacrifice. Why else would she leave everything behind and walk arm in arm with the devil into the world of sex trafficking and human imprisonment? This is Sophia's story. She wants you to know who she was before that day. Before she became just another missing girl.
Missing Girl is a powerful and provocative story that explores the depths of familial love, and the horrors of the human trafficking epidemic that plagues our global community. Sophia's story is a fictional account of what so many real-life women and children experience every single moment of their lives when they are forced into sexual slavery and imprisonment.

I read this because I was doing research on the subject of trafficking. The story was sad, somewhat realistic & ended abruptly. I don't personally know anyone who has been a victim of this, however it has opened my eyes to how widespread it is.I think because of the briefness of the book & content it is worth reading.
I am Mrs. Burley, by the way, I'm the one who read this & I also think that young women should be aware of the dangers out there. Thanks.

Missing Girl edition by Piper Punches Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Great book, really makes you wonder how people could do this to another human being. Pay attention to everything around you.
To rushed and short
This story was about human trafficking, and the way that girls can get pulled into the business. I was thinking about how her life will end.
I have been looking for stories to remind us that we have so much to be thankful for. Health, safety, freedom, dignity, these are all things we take for granted. We as the human race need to be reminded that these stories really exist. And we need to put a stop to it. Stop burying our heads in our own problems and take stock in who. Is around us And what you can help them with.
This is a page turner. It is a great book to keep you interested for hours. When I started reading it I could not put it down. I wrote a college paper and incorporated it into the paper.
Very short, very simplistic. A good concept, but less than stellar execution. Wording was often awkward and sounded like it came from someone without much experience in writing fiction.
I was taken back how these young girls went missing and their parents were so afraid of being deported that they couldn't even report them as missing. It would be terrible to be that afraid. It's bad. enough when you have a child missing .
What these poor girls went through before they were murdered was just terrible.
I would recommend this book. but be prepared to cry in parts of it.
